Why you must make a Will

Back to News

A Will is one of the most important documents that you will ever make. They are the only way for you to decide what happens to your finances and possessions after death.

Wills are for everyone, not just the wealthy. A Will is a very personal document and it is as individual as the person that makes it. It is up to that person to manage what happens. It may be that you don’t have any assets but you do have young children. In making a Will you can decide who will look after your children should the worst ever happen.

“WILLS ARE FOR EVERYONE, NOT JUST THE WEALTHY”

Making a Will doesn’t have to take a long time, and depending upon an individual’s circumstances, doesn’t have to be complicated.

By instructing a solicitor to prepare you Will you will be guided through the process with the minimum of stress and have an accurate document setting out your wishes. A solicitor will deal with you as an individual and advise you in relation to your individual circumstances and needs, this is not a “one size fits all” service.

“MAKING A WILL DOESN’T HAVE TO TAKE A LONG TIME”

You may only realise what you need once you have had all of the options explained to you by a Solicitor, as you may not have known what you are able to do. It is a Solicitors job to listen to you and to explain the consequences of what you may be seeking, which may even be unintended. This may result in you deciding something different.
